We had the blood draw this morning for tomorrow's appointment. It went well despite Hector not being the technician. At the very least, no crying with the needle poke. He is such a little man when it comes to pain. He wouldn't even look away from the needle -- even though he told me that he "might whine a little", he stared down the blood technician and wanted to watch the whole thing. Such a boy...

My son. age 4, like to watch them draw blood, but then leaves the doctors office walking like a mummy with his arms straight out.

My daughter is 3 and was diagnosed with UC four months ago. She's also on the scd, along with many other things (ayurvedic herbs, various juices, l-glutamine etc). I've been wanting to write you but for some reason I haven't been able to post. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, it's helpful and I do read often. I was wondering if you'd considered the work of Wolfgang Lutz? In his clinical experience of treating people with crohn's with his diet (any carbs but only 72g/6bread units a day)? Apparently crohns patients respond quite quickly to this diet and he has a very high success rate (about 90% in two years). It's hard with such a little one on such an already limited diet (Halloween was heartbreaking and hellish for us)! but this might help with the symptoms? Unfortunately, UC responds much more slowly and with more relapses to this diet. Best of luck.
Thank you for the Wolfgang Lutz suggestion -- we'll look into it and let you know if we consider implementing!
